In case you haven't figured it out yet, I am a Pinterest junkie. Even though I am still developing my Delish boards, my personal account is exploding with more than seven thousand pins...no joke. Anyway, one thing I enjoy looking at on Pinterest is home decor and I am really fascinated by what is trending this year. Some of the - what I believe is borderline genius - eye catching design trends are below...
Black & White
Like an old photo, black and white is classic & stylish. There is something about it that can be so breathtaking. Though I have always been a fan of darker walls (gray/black). They may make a room feel smaller, but boy do they make one hell of a statement.
Brass
While I wouldn't go throwing brass colored paint on the wall anytime soon, I do think brass fixtures and accessories are stunning. Conveniently, they seem to be the "metal of the moment."
Homey Kitchens
As someone who enjoys baking, the kitchen is a very important part of the home to me. I have mentioned before how much I love minimalism, but there are few things better than homey, well-used kitchens.
Neutral w/a Pop
Pops of color are awesome, whether in your wardrobe or in your home. This particularly wonderful for those of you who want to make a bold statement without being overwhelming. AND it is easy to mix it up -- just switch out your accessories when you are sick of that particular color.
Raw Design
I love love love rustic, raw, exposed styles. Warehouse/factory style living spaces are my absolute favorite based solely on the fact you are likely to find one, if not all of the following -- 1) exposed brick, 2) raw/untreated wood, 3) steel. It is real, natural and beautiful.
So what do you think? Did I miss a trend that you are loving right now? If so, please share!
