I went shopping with a friend last weekend with absolutely zero intention of buying anything. As you can guess, that did not work out so well for a shopaholic like myself. My failure is partially due to my lack of self control when it comes to all things style and fashion; also in part due to amazing deals. Time to pay it forward & share these wonderful deals with you.
Forever 21 ($31.70)
I started out with something cute, simple and versatile for work. I absolutely fell in love with this cuffed chiffon piece. I ended up picking it up in coral (as pictured), but I will likely be ordering other colors online. For under $10, it can't be beat! While I doubt I will be able to wear these adorable elephants to work, I simply could not pass them up. Under $15 was a well-worth-it splurge. Lastly, I picked up this classic palm print tee. It is a definite must have for summer. Three shirts for just over $30 is not too shabby.
New York & Company ($10.59)
Full disclosure: there were about a million pieces in the store that I really wanted. I mean, really wanted. But since I did not intend on shopping this paycheck, I was trying to be good. That said, I was pumped when I found these beauties on the 80% off clearance rack. I tried them on with very little hope that they would even look remotely decent. With hips as wide (and obnoxious) as mine, these style of pants often look absolutely ridiculous on me. Much to my surprise, they fit perfectly!! So, if you have a hip problem like mine -- go for it! And for just over $10...what do you have to lose?
Banana Republic Factory ($14.99)
Another store where I wanted way more items and exercised a surprising amount of self control. I just could not pass up on these cute shorts though -- especially when they were on sale for $15! Note that they are cheaper in store than they are online, so if you are able to make it to the brick & mortar, do it.
Grand total: $57.28
Now if we are being entirely honest, I struck out at quite a few stores before stumbling across these items. Everything I looked at was either not in my size or far more than I was willing to pay. But this whole experience just goes to show you that a little bit of patience in fashion wonderland (AKA the mall) will lead to good things.
Happy shopping!
