Christmas in July

So I know this is odd considering how much I dislike Christmas, but Christmas in July is right around the corner and I could not be more excited. Christmas movies, big sales...ah-mazing. Thinking about throwing a Christmas in July Soiree? Here are some tips...

Activities

A cheap addition to any pool party is pool noodles. Conveniently, add a little white tape to a red one and you have a candy cane. Pick up a red and green horseshoe set for a little festive game. Fill up white water balloons for fake snowballs. I know it is too warm for snowmen, but no one said you cannot build a sandman instead.

Decor

Time to have a little fun with decor. Make beach inspired ornaments for a reasonable price. What is better than Christmas trees, you ask? Ones made of seashells! Instead of a traditional wreath, make one out of drink umbrellas instead. Just because it is July does not mean you cannot deck out your home to look like a winter wonderland. Besides, red white and blue is a July color combo staple...just drop the blue and have a ball.

Food

Holiday food is always one of the most fun parts of entertaining...and doing it in the summer should not change that. Deck out you Christmas cookies with hula skirts & leis for a fun twist on tradition. Don't put those cookie cutters away yet, because you can use them on watermelon! Snowman pudding...are you kidding!?! And strawberry Santa's to boot...I can't take the cuteness! If you can find eggnog this time of year, whip up some eggnog-coladas. Last, but certainly not least...PEPPERMINT SMORES! Love love love it.

Oh, and don't think I forgot about Christmas movies...checkout the Christmas in July Movie Schedule for more info.

If you weren't considering it before, I hope you are now...it could really be a blast!
