One of the biggest style trends of the season is definitely hats and I have to say--I'm loving it! I have never been a hat person before, but for whatever reason I recently started loving them. One day a few months ago I was strolling around Target when I came across the hat section. For an unknown reason, I decided I wanted to try them on because they were to cute to pass up [sidenote: I have never done this before. Trying on hats grosses me out. One word: lice.]. Much to my surprise, I liked them...actually on my person! It has been downhill since then.
Now that I have an interest in hats, I have been seeing them everywhere! So, I pulled some of my faves (from Target, of course) to share with you.
If you are new to the hat trend like me, I suggest starting out with fedoras (I do). They are super popular right now and I feel like most anyone can pull them off. The first two that I purchased are the Diamond Print & Woven Straw. I have not seen the Blue Stripe in person yet, but I am loving the way it looks online.
I had to work my way up to floppy hats, but I adore them now. Unfortunately, I still have nowhere to wear them. The Black Floppy is my absolute favorite because it is the most versatile. I am obsessed with the Ombre Floppy and had I seen it in the store when I was just there, I definitely would have added it to my collection. I have been swooning over the Striped Floppy for so long. It reminds me of Pretty Woman (and who couldn't watch that movie on repeat for an entire day). Too bad it looks ridiculous on me. So, buy it...that way I can live vicariously through you.
If you aren't sure about this whole hat thing just yet, don't worry...it took me several years to come around to it myself. Maybe start off with something a little smaller and less noticeable, i.e. a baseball cap. I have been collecting these for years, despite my uncertainty of hats at the time. I love the JCrew inspired Beaded Flowers Hat; it is just so classic. I just saw the Metallic Baseball Cap in stored the other day for the first time and it is too cute. Besides, who can say no to metallic? And since we are on neutrals...the Leopard Brim hat counts as a neutral, right?
So what is your take on this trend? And please please please let me know if you have any other go-to hat spots!
