Hey ladies! Today I want to chat a bit about something that I rarely ever mention...makeup. I have mentioned before how uncomfortable with makeup I am. It is not that I don't like it, rather I am uncertain of how to use it. That said, I buy what I know...the products I have been using for years. The fear of new beauty products holds me back time and time again. Now, I think I have found a solution.
How many of you are Ipsy subscribers? If you are not, it is something to seriously consider. I joined about four months ago and am so happy that I did. Here is an overview of the bags I have received:
April:
I was not sure what to expect with my first Ipsy bag and to be perfectly honest, I was not that impressed. My two favorite items from the bag were Starloooks Satin Finish Lip Gloss and Essence Cosmetics Lash Princess Mascara. I am a lip gloss junkie so that was a no brainer, but I do not wear mascara hardly ever (seriously, five times in my life) and this is one of my top two faves. My least favorite is the Theorie Argan Oil Ultimate Reform Hair Serum and it is solely because I do not have the time, patience or desire to use hair serums...my hair is way too thick and obnoxious for that.
May:
After being mildly disappointed in my first bag, I actually completely forgot about it and did not even peak at what was going to be in my bag for May (which is a feature I love). This time around was better. My favorite product from the bag was Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Mousse. It smells amazing and holds even better. My least favorite product was Jesse's Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust because the shade was horrid. Like toilet bowl horrid. The product itself was fine...nothing to write home about.
June:
After my first two bags being somewhat mediocre, I decided to re-take the beauty quiz and I am so glad I did. My June bag was spot-on, so clearly my preferences had changed since I first took the quiz. I decided that I would retake it every two-to-three months to ensure I would continue receiving products I like. Anyway, back to the bag. I loved it all! If I had to choose, I would say my favorite product was tre'StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon. It glides on so well and the neutral color is perfect for any day wear. My least favorite product was OFRA Cosmetics Turquoise Eyeliner and I only say that based on the color because it made me feel like a hooker.
July:
As far as the physical bag goes, July was definitely my favorite. I love the bright and bold pattern. That is the general trend for this bag because I love the contents as well. My favorite product is Lulu Blossom Raspberry Lemonade Lip Balm. It smells and tastes seriously amazing. My least favorite product is Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo. Simply put, dry shampoo grosses me out. Just wash your damn hair. But I also think this goes back to my thick crazy hair, which everyone does not have (lucky them).
