As I mentioned in my previous post, my Herbalife journey began last week. I am excited to share with you my meals/eating habits for the beginning of this new lifestyle so you can get a better idea of what it really looks like. Just consider this my food diary.
WEEK ONE
WEEK ONE
Day 1: Monday 2/29
Breakfast: Cafe Latte Shake
Lunch: Cookies & Cream Shake
Snack: Sargento Balanced Breaks & Strawberry Shortcake Yogurt
Dinner: Crab stuffed salmon & sweet potato
Snack: Cheese stick
Calories Consumed: 1457 / Calories Burned: 136 / 121 Calories OVER Goal (whomp whomp)
Comments: Day One was rough. By mid-day I was ready to quit. I hated drinking my food (I have issues with texture as it is) and I thought it was impossible to hit my protein goal (119 grams) without going over my calorie allotment (1200).
Day 2: Tuesday 3/1
Breakfast: French Vanilla Mug Cake
Lunch: Chai Tea Latte Shake
Snack: Lemon Meringue Yogurt
Dinner: 6" ham hoagie
Snack: Lemon Meringue Yogurt
Calories Consumed: 1200 / Calories Burned: 133 / 133 calories UNDER goal (it's a miracle!)
Comments: Definitely did better today. I would have been a goner if it weren't for that mug cake. An extra plus is that it made the enter house smell like I was up all night baking cookies -- yum!
Day 3: Wednesday 3/2
Breakfast: Chocolate Mug Cake
Lunch: Chai Tea Latte Shake
Snack: Strawberry Shortcake Yogurt
Cheat: Chips & salsa
Dinner: Steak & sweet potato
Snack: Salted caramel yogurt
Calories Consumed: 1260 / Calories Burned: 116 / 56 calories UNDER goal
Comments: I cheated today, it's true. I don't know why, but I was feeling extra hungry all day long. I don't even care because even with my "cheat" I still managed to stay under my calorie allotment.
Day 4: Thursday 3/3
Breakfast: Cafe Latte Mug Cake
Lunch: Chai Tea Latte Shake
Snack: Sargento Balanced Breaks & cheese stick
Dinner: Roast chicken, mashed potatoes& gravy
Snack: Strawberry cheesecake yogurt
Calories Consumed: 1333 / Calories Burned: 209 / 76 calories UNDER goal
Comments: I just want to take a minute and thank the ridiculous amount of walking I did today for allowing me to indulge a little extra. Also, in case you haven't noticed...the Chai Tea Latte Shake is definitely my favorite. To make it I just add one packet of Oregon Chai Tea Latte mix to a vanilla shake. It is delicious! The only downside is that it adds an addition 130 calories to my shake...bummer. Still totally worth it.
Day 5: Friday 3/4
Breakfast: Cafe Latte Mug Cake
Lunch: Mint Choco Chip Shake
Snack: Cheese stick
Dinner: Pizza
Snack: Lemon Meringue Yogurt
Calories Consumed: 1310 / Calories Burned: 253 / 143 Calories UNDER goal
Comments: Yes, I ate pizza for dinner. I still had more than 100 calories to spare so I don't care.
Day 6: Saturday 3/5
Breakfast: Mint Choco Chip Mug Cake
Lunch: Chocolate Mug Cake
Snack: Cheese stick & protein ball
Dinner: McDonald's (big mistake & not at all worth it)
Snack: Lemon Meringue Yogurt
Calories Consumed: 1612 / Calories Burned: 43 / 369 calories OVER goal (so so so bad)
Comments: I weighed in for the first time since beginning the products this morning. I lost six pounds! Apparently that went straight to my head and I ate a terrible fast food dinner. Not only did it push me WAY over my calories, I felt absolutely terrible afterward. My stomach hurt so so bad after putting that crap into it. Lesson learned.
WEEK TWO
WEEK TWO
Day 7: Sunday 3/6
Breakfast: Slept through it, whoops!
Lunch: Mint Choco Chip Mug Cake
Snack: Sargento Balanced Breaks
Dinner: Chicken barbecue & roasted potatoes
Snack: Cheese stick
Calories Consumed: 980 / Calories Burned: 0 / 220 calories UNDER goal (what a lazy day)
Comments; So...I didn't get up until almost lunchtime. Needless to say, I missed a meal (and a set of tablets...I suck). Dinner was delicious though so I think that makes up for it a bit. On a completely different note, my new scale came in the mail today! Normally that would not be exciting, but it measures all kinds of things, including BMI, body age, visceral fat & more. I learned that in the past week, I lowered my body age by two years and while it is still higher than it should be I am beyond happy with that progress.
Day 8: Monday 3/7
Breakfast: Chai Tea Latte Shake
Lunch: Mint Choco Chip Mug Cake
Snack: Cheese stick & strawberry shortcake yogurt
Dinner: Steak & sweet potato
Snack: Sargent Balanced Break & Cherry Pie yogurt
Calories Consumed: 1310 / Calories Burned: 158 / 48 calories UNDER goal
Comments: I was running late this morning so I switched up my normal routine. Since I did not have time to eat my mug cake, I packaged it up and took it for lunch. Shakes are much easier for grab & go, plus it was nice to start my morning off with chai for a change.
Day 9: Tuesday 3/8
Breakfast: Cafe Latte Shake
Snack: Sargento Balanced Breaks
Snack: Sargento Balanced Breaks
Lunch: Vanilla Mug Cake
Snack: Lemon Meringue Yogurt
Dinner: 8" ham hoagie
Snack: Chips & Salsa
Calories Consumed: 1408 / Calories Burned: 105 / 102 calories OVER goal
Comments: I don't know what happened today. Everything was on track, but I probably should have opted out of the hoagie run. I was SO full afterward...and then I still went hoe and cheated w/some chips and salsa. Ugh, I am so mad at myself.

Day 10: Wednesday 3/9
Breakfast: Caramel Cafe Latte Mug Cake
Snack: Cheese stick
Snack: Cheese stick
Lunch: Shredded Chicken Burrito (I went out and forgot to take a shake with me...whomp whomp)
Snack: Lemon Meringue Yogurt
Dinner: Crab stuffed salmon & baked sweet potato
Calories Consumed: 1540 / Calories Burned: 69 / 271 calories OVER goal
Comments: This was cheat week galore. I went out shopping and forget my shake. I ended up at Taco Bell and the next thing you know, I devoured a burrito. It wasn't even filling! I would have ended up being under calories if it weren't for that.

Day 11: Thursday 3/10
Breakfast: Mint Chocolate Chip Mug Cake
Lunch: Cookies & Cream Meal Replacement Bar
Snack: 2 Hardboiled Eggs & a Sargento Balanced Breaks
Dinner: Mango Salsa Chicken w/Brown Rice
Snack: Lemon Meringue Yogurt
Calories Consumed: 1307 / Calories Burned: 155 / 48 calories UNDER goal
Comments: I was starving most of the day today. I hate days when I sit at home doing nothing. When I am out running errands, at work, or even cleaning, I seem to be distracted enough. When I am at home doing nothing...not so simple to not think about food. I love food.

Day 12: Friday 3/11
Breakfast: Chocolate Mug Cake, topped with a dab of vanilla yogurt & fresh blueberries
Lunch: Cookies & Cream F1 Pie slice
Snack: 2 hardboiled eggs & a cheese stick
Dinner: Cheese quesadilla
Snack: 1 thin mint
Calories Consumed: 1188 / Calories Burned: 132 / 144 calories UNDER goal
Comments: I finally tried a Formula One Pie. As I expected, I am not a fan of Cookies & Cream. I am hoping to make a lemon pie this weekend, which I am hopeful to be more fond of. While I am enjoying not being at work this week, I hate being home. At least when I am keeping busy, I don't spend my entire day dreaming of food...for no reason! I wasn't even hungry -- just thinking about food. Ridiculous.

Day 13: Saturday 3/12
Breakfast: Mocha Latte Mug Cake
Lunch: Blueberry Muffin Mug Cake
Snack: 2 hardboiled eggs
Dinner: Cashew Honey Chicken w/Brown Rice
Snack: Cherry Pie Yogurt
Calories Consumed: 1187 / Calories Burned: 0 (lazy day extraordinaire) / 13 calories UNDER goal
Comments: I was disappointed at weigh-in today, but not surprised. Given all of the absolute CRAP I have eaten in the past week, the fact that I managed to lose two more pounds is an absolute miracle. I also measured for the first time since starting today. One inch off of my hips (hurrah!) and almost three off of my waist! Taking every centimeter of this win that I can get.

I will be the first to admit that I am a total creature of habit. A lot of you could not deal with the repetition of my diet and I totally get that. The reality is that I am SO picky...so on the off chance that I find something I actually like/enjoy, I stick with it. There are so many options for things you could do to switch it up, I am just not quite as adventurous as most people. I am trying though...and I will get there.
My #1 goal for next week is simply to cheat less. I fell off of the wagon with my impulsive eating this week and I will do better next week. Speaking of doing better next week, I am ready to get back into an exercise routine again. I wanted to see what Herbalife could do on its own, so I did not start exercising again until three days ago. In the coming week I would like to turn that around.
Even though I was disappointed (mostly in myself) this week, it is pretty awesome that I am down eight pounds in two weeks. When I started Herbalife, my goal was to lose thirty and I feel like that is attainable now. If I duplicate what I did these two weeks, I will be half-way there. I am excited to see where this journey takes me!
As always, if you have any questions about Herbalife (or anything else), reach out to me. I would be happy to help!

The mug cakes are a good idea. I need to find out about those. Herbalife is quite big in the UK. My daughter bought into an upstart called Juice Plus. A friend of hers is selling it. However mostly in our family we are now trying clean eating. Like you I put my food diary on my blog and some recipes too. Looking forward to joining you on IG this week with the clothes challenge again. I was out of sorts last week with bronchitis so my IG is looking unclothesworthy.
ReplyDeleteI am SO jealous of your dedication. There are so many things that I wanted to try -- clean eating, gluten free, Mediterranean -- I just never had the dedication to stick to it. I am absolutely shocked that I took to Herbalife so easily; I truly thought I would not even make a week before returning to my unhealthy eating habits. Sure I still slip up, but I stay on point for the most part.
DeleteI am definitely going to be heading over to your blog for recipes! I am always looking for new healthy recipes to try for dinner. I find myself eating the same meals over and over again. I don't mind repetition in my snacking, but the same repetitive meals get tiring.
Hope you are feeling better now! Bronchitis is so terrible. I was off most of the week for Spring Break and I very rarely even attempted to make myself look presentable. We were both unclothesworthy! Looking forward to your styles this week :)
