Wellness Wednesday: Wake & Shake

Hello, lovelies! I recently decided (as in, two days ago I dreamed up this idea) to start posting Wellness Wednesday's. While I do enjoy using this as a food-log of sorts and sharing my entire Herbalife journey with you, I realized that I am not doing my best at really getting down to the core of Herbalife and educating you on the products.

Don't care? No worries, I am not offended -- just move right on past this post. If you are interested in health & wellness in anyway, let's get right down to it. Today we are going to talk about the main Formula 1 product and what it is like to Wake & Shake.

Formula 1 is the foundation of Herbalife weight-management products. It provides your body with up to 21 essential vitamins and minerals, on top of added protein and fiber, for a well-balanced meal that is fast and health-conscious. Formula 1 is available in a variety of flavors to satisfy your tastebuds and is also available in allergen-free (no soy, dairy or gluten) and Kosher if desired.

Most Herbalife users start their days off with a Wake & Shake routine. My go-to shake for weekday mornings is Caramel Cafe Latte.

This boils down to less than 5 minutes to make and only 200 calories (less if you don't need to use the PDM to hit your daily protein goal). Not too shabby when you compare it to this (which actually used to be my breakfast somedays pre-Herbalife) --

Coffee not your thing? No worries, there are a ton of other flavors! If I am not in the mood for coffee, I will mix Vanilla F1 either with chai tea mix or frozen fruit (the chai is my favorite, but the tea packet adds calories so I don't do it often). My Mom's favorite is the Orange Tootsie Roll (Orange F1 mixed with Chocolate F1), but tootsie rolls just aren't my thing. Other options include Mint Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Spice, Mixed Berry & more.

The number one complaint I hear is "I can't do shakes all of the time." Heck, I said it myself (still do sometimes). Guess what -- you don't have to! Formula 1 can be used to make a variety of foods including mug cake, pie, pancakes, protein balls, and more...but we will dive further into that another day. So as the day progresses and lunchtime rolls around, I try to mix it up. If I had a shake that morning, I rarely take a shake for lunch too because I am easily bored by it.  I often will take a Express Meal Bar, pie, or usually once per week I count lunch as my "normal meal" simply so I can treat myself to lunch at the cafe. Because really, I hear you, and I don't want to/can't/won't do shakes all of the time either!

I hope this helped you to understand Formula One. Since it is the core product, central to Herbalife's weight-management products, I will continue talking about this in coming weeks so if you have any questions, feel free to comment or reach out to me using the Contact page so I am sure to address them.

I said from the beginning that I don't want to push products at you, and that is still true. I do, however, want to share my journey with you and to do that some understanding of the products will prove helpful. If at any point along the way you begin to think you may want to give it a shot, let me know and we can work up your wellness profile to get your started off right. If you think I am crazy, well that is probably true for unrelated reasons so I won't argue. In the meantime, my Herbalife journey continues!
