Anyone else itching to slip into the warm-weather trends? I have so many things that I am dying to work into my regular rotation now that the weather is finally starting to come around. Let's take a look at the prompts that are going to help us accomplish this...
For those of you who are new to #LLBwardroberemix, here is how it works:
Each month I am going to give you 40 prompts, broken down into 8 categories. You can do any prompt, from any category, on any day you want. This challenge works around your schedule, while still providing a hint of inspiration.
Better Together:
Coral & Navy. Seriously one of my absolute favorite combinations. I need no excuse to wear this over and over and over again.
Lime & Yellow. Go bright & bold!
Peaches & Cream. Aaaaannnnd this sone will be in my head for days now.
Pink & Orange. I hated this combination for years but each year when the weather starts to warm up, it grows on me.
Red, White & Blue. For Memorial Day, perhaps.
Brands/Stores:
AE or A&F. This one is all about the jeans for me.
Lularoe Away w/Me. I'm an addict, what can I say? Classic Ts are my jam.
Off-brand. Show off some of your beautiful boutique pieces.
Right on Target. When in doubt, Target.
Zac & Rachel. I fell in love with this brand a couple of years ago when Christopher & Banks started carrying it (though I didn't care for how inconsistent the sizing was in comparison to their other pieces). I later found out that Boscov's carried it forever and I was just oblivious.
Color:
Black Out. Just because it's warming up doesn't mean we can't go head-to-toe black.
Lilac Love. I have been seeing varying shades of light purple all over the place and I am here for it.
Mellow Melon. You thought I was going to say yellow, didn't you? 😜
Olive You. Military and utility looks are all the rage so this is for all my camo lovers out there.
Something Blue. Give me all the blue. All of it. Love love love.
New & Old:
3mo unworn. Dig deep into those drawers & closet to dig out something you haven't worn in at least three months.
6mo unworn. Head back to the closet and pull out something you haven't worn in at least six months.
EUC. Excellent Used Condition. Show off one your go-to pieces.
NWT. Bust the tags off of something new!
Pre-owned. Time to brag about your thrifty finds.
Pattern:
Animal Print. All things animal print are popping up everywhere and I am beyond excited. Picking which print is going to be the hardest part.
Blooms & Blossoms. For the love of all things floral!
Gingham Style. A fun spring print, don't you think?
Spots & Dots. If you need to enjoy a bit more animal print, opt for leopard spots. Otherwise, it's polka dots for you my friend!
Stenciled. Wear a print that looks as though it was stenciled on. I am leaning toward trefoil...or maybe damask.
Show Some Skin:
All-in-One. Jumpsuits and rompers are starting to look like they are here to stay.
Bare Shoulders. Off the shoulder, cold shoulder, tube top, tank...whatever strikes your fancy.
Cream of the Crops. Let's see those legs, ladies! Throw on a fun pair of crops.
Oh So Shifty. Shift dresses are truly flattering on anyone. If you haven't given one a shot, I highly recommend at least heading to a fitting room.
Sweet Sundress. We all have that one sundress in our closet that we cannot wait to get back into this time of year.
Specific Item:
Bomb Dot Com. Let's see those bomber jackets!
Fiesta Frock. Party clothes! Just kidding...well, sort of. I am picturing ruffle dresses, embroidery, tassels/pompoms, two-pieces. Have fun with it!
Get Graphic. Graphic tees. Nice & simple.
Strappy Sandals. Not just any sandal will do, it's all about the straps.
Sunnies Side Up. Hide behind your fave pair of sunglasses.
Textured & Trending:
Apple of My Eyelet. Eyelet holds a special place in my heart. I get excited each year when I see it out on the racks.
Not Yo Mama's Embroidery. Embroidery has come a long way over the years.
Laidback Linen. I am not a linen person (irons are the devil), but I love to see it on others.
Painted Perfection. I may or may not have a slight obsession with hand-painted denim.
Patched Up. Patchwork is making a comeback and the only thing I hate is that I didn't save any of mine from the last time around.
