After last week's hair product post, I had a couple people reach out and ask what my daily hair routine looks like. I use so many products at varying times, I totally understand why. So, let's simplify this a little--
There are so many beauty products on the market it is almost impossible to know what to buy. And hair...psh...forget about it. I know very little about it and though I am getting better, I have little skill when it comes to styling. I blame this on my incredibly difficult to manipulate hair. It is very thick and coarse, so doing anything with it is a real chore. That said, I have spent many years (yes, you read that right...years) trying out different products before coming across ones that truly work for me and my crazy mane.
Hey ladies! Today I want to chat a bit about something that I rarely ever mention...makeup. I have mentioned before how uncomfortable with makeup I am. It is not that I don't like it, rather I am uncertain of how to use it. That said, I buy what I know...the products I have been using for years. The fear of new beauty products holds me back time and time again. Now, I think I have found a solution.
Hello, lovlies! So for those of you who do not come around regularly, I hardly ever review beauty products. Why? Because I don't get them. I buy & use them, but I don't get them. I do not know how to properly apply makeup and basically just do what I can to get by. However, while I am an avid supporter of Clinique, I purchased a tarte collection a couple of weeks ago that I am passionate about.
I received an email from a reader asking how I curled my hair. It is strange for me to get any type of beauty question because I am so beauty challenged. Never the less, I thought it would be a good idea to address that question here.
Funny story, I don't actually curl my hair (or at least very rarely and there aren't any photos on here of it). If you see my hair in any manner other than simply straight, it is scrunched. So basically, after I wash my hair I load it up with product while it is still wet. I have tried a number of different products, but the ones I found holds my thick/coarse hair the best are below.

I do not claim to be a beauty expert, by any means. In fact, I am terrible at most beauty-related tasks. But after years of battling a lion mane, I have finally found a way to tame my hair and I am here to share it with the rest of you who may be suffering from the same thick, coarse hair issues as me.
