I do not claim to be a beauty expert, by any means. In fact, I am terrible at most beauty-related tasks. But after years of battling a lion mane, I have finally found a way to tame my hair and I am here to share it with the rest of you who may be suffering from the same thick, coarse hair issues as me.
I have hated hairspray for as long as I can remember...and then I found Frozen Stiff. It actually keeps my hair in place -- even on the days with 91% humidity! Now that is saying something.
Again, I am no expert...this is just a routine that has worked wonders on my used-to-be unmanageable hair. I hope you have luck with it as well!

I have my hair colored every six weeks so it is important to me to use color-safe shampoo & conditioner. I have quite possibly the hardest water in the world, so I need to do whatever I can to preserve my color until I can get back to my stylist (and clearly I am not giving up heat, so color safe shampoo/conditioner it is). It has all natural ingredients, which is great. I will warn you though, the smell can take some getting use to...but now I seriously love it.
I was introduced to this amazing product by the most amazing hair stylist on the planet, Elyse Castel. She would use it in my hair regularly and always loved how it smoothed it out. Now it is part of my daily routine. Warning: Do not apply too much (I use about a half-to-whole pump, no more..ever) or you will end up looking like a greaseball.
Elyse introduced me to this also, as an avid Paul Mitchell supporter. Just like After Party, you only need one pump (less is normal for me, but definitely no more).
This is honestly the best brush I have ever used. I was skeptical dropping twenty bucks on a brush, but after using it...I would have paid more. It is so comfortable to hold AND use -- it doesn't pull!
I had my eye on this one for a while and then received it as a Christmas gift. I will be honest, it wasn't quite as good as I expected but I still completely love it. In comparison to my old crappy drugstore dryer, it is amazing. I have used it with and without the infrared feature, but I usually dry with it. The light freaks the cats out even more than the sound, so crazy cat ladies (like myself) beware.
I know a ton of people who swear by Chi, but I cannot imagine giving up my Amika. It makes my hair so much more smooth and manageable. In all honesty, it probably doesn't matter what brand you use as long as it is ceramic (no exceptions).
Again, I am no expert...this is just a routine that has worked wonders on my used-to-be unmanageable hair. I hope you have luck with it as well!
