It pains me to even discuss the reality that despite our protests, summer is beginning to wind down and back-to-school is just around the corner. Unlike some of you, I will make a quick recovery because Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. With it comes cooler temperatures, beautiful scenery, and best of all...an excuse for more shopping (as if one is even necessary). Check out some of my Back-to-School wardrobe must haves...
Girlfriend Jeans. Don't get me wrong, I like boyfriend jeans and all, but girlfriend jeans are way better. If you are cursed with wide hips like I am, you likely love boyfriend jeans on other people...just not yourself...am I right? That is because it is hard enough to find regular jeans that fit both in the hips and legs, so when you try on jeans that are actually supposed to look baggy they end up looking three sizes too big. Enter life changing Gap girlfriend jeans...that have just enough bag for an effortlessly chic look (without looking homeless).
Cowl-back tops. Is there anything more comfortable? Style and comfort all rolled into one. Toss it on with a strappy back bra for an extra trendy look. The best part? Add a cardigan or blazer for a super quick and easy day-to-night outfit. Cowl-back tunic for the win.
Dark rinse Chambray. Some of us have been wearing chambray all summer, and that is fine...but it is time to start darkening our wardrobe for fall. Pick up the J Crew Factory dark rinse chambray to mix up your wardrobe a bit.
Plaid. I seriously have no idea why summer plaid is so hard to find. Luckily, fall is right around the corner so it is completely acceptable to start hoarding plaid again. Enter Abercrombie Plaid Pocket Shirt; exit half of my checking account.
Bucket Bag. That's right folks, bucket bags are here to stay for yet another season and I am so far beyond pleased I cannot even express my joy. The Tanner by JustFab is at the top of my wishlist right now.
Initial Necklace. You know you have been seeing these everywhere and that is not likely to change anytime soon. I have to say, no one does it quite as well as Kate Spade.
Animals, animals, animals! It is about more than just animal print these days...it is about the animals themselves! Elephants, flamingos, zebras...animals have been everywhere for the past several months. I have had my eye on the Neck In Neck Lilly Pulitzer loop scarf for a little while now.
Duck Boots. These made a huge comeback last year and they are likely to stay on trend throughout this season as well. I know I cannot wait to break out my bean boots, but I think Sperry Duck Boots are more on point for fall.
Wrap Watch. I watched as this trend grew over the last two years, uncertain of whether or not it was here to stay. Now that it clearly is, I am drooling over this Michael Kors beauty.
Statement Headbands. No one has perfect hair days all of the time and sometimes we all just need a break; a lazy hair day, if you will. Now there is a way to wear your hair up in style and no one does statement headbands like KRZA.
Happy shopping, my loves!
